不过，当前，中美关系整体还处于比较稳定的状态，这种势头将会持续下去。吴心伯认为，美国大选过后成立新政府，不管是哪个党当权，对华外交现实主义的一面是大的方向。中美都从当前紧密的关系中得到了好处，这才是两国关系长久发展的根本动力。
In Wu’s opinion, there will be a new U.S. government after the election. Therefore, the realisticdiplomacy against China will be the main direction, no matter which party holds power. Both Chinaand the United States benefited from the currently close relationship, which is the fundamentaldriving force to push a smooth bilateral relationship forward.
